Data Collection and Privacy:
This statement describes eRSVP's privacy practices for its own Web site, as well as the Web sites eRSVP hosts for its clients, including what type of information is gathered and tracked, how the information is used, and with whom the information is shared. This privacy statement does not disclose how eRSVP's clients use data collected on Web sites that eRSVP hosts for them.
The eRSVP system collects two sets of data, one from the event or association manager and one from the manager's attendees. The use and privacy issue policies are:
Use of Information:
The first set of data collected is from the event or association manager, who is an eRSVP client. eRSVP uses this data to communicate with our client in various ways. We may contact the client with important information. We will disclose the client's information to attendees who have registered for the client's event or those who want to submit a survey response to the client.
The second set of data collected is from the event or association manager's attendees or association members. This data is held in strict
confidence. eRSVP does not contact anyone unless instructed to do so by the event or association manager. eRSVP sends out confirmation messages and other communication email as desired by the event planner.
eRSVP sometimes receives email communication from attendees or association members asking for technical help with the registration process. eRSVP helps them on behalf of the client. eRSVP may not inform the client of all of these technical correspondences, but will direct the attendee to the client.
If the attendee or association member has submitted a payment through eRSVP's service, eRSVP is required by consumer rights law to provide the payee with information about the company eRSVP collected payment for; eRSVP is required by credit card companies to disclose the transaction details if requested by credit card holders.
Information Security and Quality:
eRSVP intends to protect the quality and integrity of your personally identifiable information. We have implemented appropriate physical, technical and organizational measures to help keep your information secure, accurate, current, and complete.
Use of IP Addresses:
eRSVP uses the IP addresses of attendees and association members to resolve technical problems, and to administer eRSVP web sites. eRSVP stores IP addresses during ticket purchase and event registration, and stores email addresses for the subscribe and unsubscribe processes. Effective June 1st, 2004, eRSVP will collect this data in accordance with best practices methods recommended by Visa, MasterCard and by the CAN-SPAM Law (2003).
Payment Processing and Privacy:
Payment submitted by attendees or association members is processed either via eRSVP's merchant account or our clients? merchant accounts. In either case, all payment data for commerce transactions is passed through a secure payment gateway processor. eRSVP uses Authorize.net or Payflow Pro to process credit card payments. eRSVP does not store the entire credit card number, nor do clients have access to this information.
If you have any questions about the payment processing for an event or association membership, please contact us at email@example.com.
From time to time eRSVP's clients may receive a customer satisfaction survey, newsletter, or notices of changes in policy or other important information. Participation in surveys is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use of and satisfaction with this Web site, and improving our customer service and product offerings.
Please be aware that clients may not opt-out of receiving information regarding the security, initial use, account status, or migration of our products or services.
Email Tools and Anti-Spam:
eRSVP offers its clients sophisticated email marketing tools. These tools enable clients to easily execute anti-spam policies, providing simple mechanisms to incorporate unsubscribe functions. eRSVP itself adheres to a strict anti-spam policy, making it easy for subscribers to unsubscribe.
eRSVP clients may not use our service for chain letters, junk mail, or "spamming," or make any use of the distribution lists in a manner involving any person who has not given specific permission to be included in such a process. An email advertisement which is addressed to a recipient with whom the initiator does not have an existing business or personal relationship and is not sent at the request of or with the express consent of the recipient to receive such communications from the client ("Spam") is strictly prohibited by eRSVP. If any client uses eRSVP for Spam, eRSVP reserves the right to immediately terminate the client's access and seek appropriate legal recourse as necessary. If any client believes that others are using our service for Spam, please contact eRSVP immediately.
Disclosure of Data to Third Parties:
Our policy has always been to not rent, sell, or share personal information collected with other people or nonaffiliated companies except with permission in order to provide products or services requested. Some information is collected from visits to our sites to help us provide better service. We may use this data to analyze trends and statistics and to help us provide better customer service, but we do so in ways that aggregate the data and keep the information anonymous.
